The Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) is giving back to its customers through a new customer rewards program. The program applies to all customers with either a residential or social electricity account. The utility company says there are only a few limitations in taking part in the program. Customer Accounts Manager, Sherman Ferguson spoke to Love News about the program and what customers need to qualify.
While the rewards program is strictly for customers who don’t have any arrears with the company, Ferguson says the company is taking special measures to ensure persons affected by COVID-19 keep their lights on. According to him since the onset of the pandemic the company has seen its arrears increase by almost twenty million dollars.
Ferguson says that the winners of their award program will be announced the second week in December.
