Here’s a fun promotion if you have one of the Chase Southwest credit cards: On Friday, June 11, 2021, you can earn 50 points per dollar on purchases made with your card directly with Southwest Airlines, on up to a maximum of $100 in spending.
Eligible purchases include Southwest airfare, inflight purchases, Southwest gift cards, and Southwest Vacations packages. Purchases made through the Rapid Rewards Points Center also qualify for the promotion.

Even better, the points you’ll earn count toward earning the Southwest Companion Pass, so if you’re working on qualifying in 2021, this promo is an easy way to give your balance a quick boost.
Earn 50x points with Southwest credit cards
If you’re a Southwest cardholder, you probably received an email with the details of the promotion. There’s no registration required — just use your Southwest credit card on June 11, 2021, between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to make a qualifying purchase.
You’ll earn 50x points on up to $100 in total Southwest purchases during this period, for a maximum of 5,000 points. Insider values Southwest points as worth 1.4 cents apiece, on average, so 5,000 points are worth roughly $70 in Southwest airfare.
Eligible Southwest credit cards include:
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card
It’s important to note that the 50x points aren’t on top of the bonus points you already earn with your card. For example, the Southwest personal cards normally earn 2x points on Southwest purchases, so this promo would award an additional 48x points for a grand total of 50x points.
The bonus points will count toward the total required to earn the Southwest Companion Pass, but not toward A-List or A-List Preferred qualification. Southwest says the bonus points should post within eight weeks.
If you don’t have Southwest flights planned right now, you can still get in on the promo by buying a gift card. Southwest gift cards don’t expire, so you can hang onto the card until you’re ready to travel.
