Attendees to Thursday’s Arkadelphia Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet learned that Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott will be coming to Arkadelphia.
The 81-room hotel will be located one-half mile south of Interstate 30 and Pine Street on Red Hill Road. Arkadelphia City Manager Gary Brinkley noted the location along Interstate 30 is ideal for the hotel due to the high volume of traffic which comes through Arkadelphia each month.
According to Brinkley, Milestone Properties, a partnership of Brandon Stone and Miles McKenzie, will develop and own the hotel with expanded meeting space to meet local demand.
“I was able to put them (Stone and McKenzie) in touch with a hotel development friend of mine and boom, we had a deal,” Brinkley explained.
According to Brinkley, the Fairfield Inn and Suites is the second largest brand in the Marriott system, with more than 30 years of legacy performance.
“Not only do we get a higher end limited service hotel on I-30, but we get the Marriott brand which has one of the best reservation systems in the world,” Brinkley said.
With more than 100 million members strong, the Marriott rewards ranks highest in overall guest satisfaction with hotel loyalty programs based on customer satisfaction surveys.
“Another reason we are excited is the fact that Fairfield Inn and Suites performs very well,” Brinkley said.
System-wide, Brinkley noted that Fairfield Inn and Suites has a 69.9 percent average occupancy, with an average daily rate of $110.83.
In addition, Brinkley believes that as the market grows, the Arkadelphia community will have the ability to add additional Marriott products to diversity the local hotel offering.
“We could not be more excited about this development and the long-term opportunity this presents for the highly desired I-30 corridor development,” Brinkley said.
Brinkley wants area residents and potential businesses and industries to know that “the city of Arkadelphia is open for business.”
“We have a significant amount of available land in place to provide services, lodging and entertainment for people looking for services, lodging and entertainment,” said Brinkley.
A ground breaking ceremony for the new Fairfield Inn and Suites will be announced at a later date. Representatives with Milestone Properties did not return a phone call for comment before press time.
