Save $200 on Qantas Flights With American Express

Posted on July 23, 2018July 23, 2018 by Rewards

American Express cardholders can save up to $200 on their next trip to Australia, but they need to sign up and book before Sept. 23, 2018. The credit card issuer launched a new Amex Offer today with Qantas for flights originating from the United States.

Amex Offers are exclusive savings offered to American Express members. While many Amex Offers are travel-focused, others earn bonus Membership Rewards points or save money on other home and lifestyle purchases.

The offer

With the Amex Offer, cardholders can get a one-time $200 statement credit when using their enrolled American Express card to spend $1,000 or more on airfare at Qantas.com. Any qualified card is eligible for the deal, including the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express, or The Platinum Card® from American Express .

To take advantage after sign up, travelers must use the credit card they signed up with to buy airfare. The one-time $200 statement credit will appear on their statement within 90 days.

The fine print

Limited offers are available. Interested cardholders can sign up for the promotion at amexoffers.com. Only American Express cards issued in the United States are eligible, and limited to one card per cardmember. To get the credit, the enrolled card must be used on Qantas.com. Purchases made by phone, at terminals, in lounges or aboard flights are not eligible.

The deal is only valid for flights. Tickets bought through travel agencies won’t work for the deal. Additionally, buying travel insurance, gift vouchers, Bid Now upgrades, Qantas Club membership or lounge club access won’t count. And if the purchase is canceled or returned, the statement credit may be reversed

Is it a good deal?

Anytime travelers can save on a trip — especially one abroad — it’s a good deal. While it’s not the deepest discount we’ve found, it’s still a good way to save on a fall trip to Australia. Anyone planning to visit the land down under should look into this deal, especially if they can book their trip before Sept. 23.
