Local News Every Day. Your Way. In Print, Online & on the Go.
At the turn of the New Year, readers will notice exciting modifications with the The News-Gazette and at winchesternewsgazette.com. With today’s modern lifestyles and improvements in technology, The News-Gazette is preparing for the future. To progress as more of a 21st century multi-media news organization, we are making some adjustments to better accommodate local readers and offer new opportunities for advertiser’s marketing needs in print and online.
Starting in January 2018, all News-Gazette print subscribers will receive an “All Access” subscription. That means each subscription will come with complete articles posted online and updated in real time throughout each day (no more teasers), an improved experience with the electronic edition of the print publication that will be available for on the go consumption 24/7, and a more comprehensive print edition delivered to the mailbox each and every Tuesday and Thursday. Also included, at no additional cost, will be an exclusive “Subscriber Savings” rewards program that offers major savings and discounts on items and services that subscribers want and need. This reader rewards program will offer valuable promotions for each individual based on the specific zip code that they enter into the website/app.
“In today’s world, people’s free time has become even more sparse and precious, and this new program allows for readers to stay current online with updates and breaking news and still have the opportunity to sit down and enjoy the print edition at their convenience. Taking advantage of this reader rewards program alone can save a subscriber more money than the cost of the subscription.” – Greg Perrotto, Group Executive.
This new configuration will allow The The News-Gazette to better serve the readers by getting news and information out to the community in real time. It also allows the newsroom more flexibility to cover even more local events, sports games, feature stories and investigative pieces that will allow The News-Gazette to continue to be the trusted, local source for news and information both in print and online. “While the delivery of the news will transform to a certain extent, these advances will not affect the quality of journalism our readers expect,” said Leesa Friend, Publisher. “The website will continue to be updated daily and still contain the professional community journalism Randolph County and the surrounding area has come to enjoy.”
Even non-subscribers can benefit by receiving a few complete stories online over a 30-day period. The News-Gazette is maintaining its partnership with local news dealers throughout the community to guarantee that non-subscribers will continue to have access to the local news and information to satisfy each individual’s unique news consumption needs.
This “All Access” program will mean even more to the business community as well. With the Red Ball Express weekly shopper and The News-Gazette, advertisers will have opportunities to get their message out to the community consistently throughout each week with the saturated distribution and high readership in print, coupled with the increased offerings on the website. This all equals a larger audience for any and all marketing needs that local business owners require to be successful in today’s economic environment.
The News-Gazette appreciates the community’s continued support and understanding as these improvements are made. It will allow the company to go forward with a renewed commitment to the valued readers and public at large.
